TOP performing BMW dealers from across Malaysia received awards for their achievements in 2009 at the BMW Malaysia Dealer Trophy Night recently.
The awards at the ceremony, held at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, were presented by BMW Group Malaysia managing director Geoffrey Briscoe.
Briscoe, in his speech, said: “Due to the state of the global economy, the year 2009 was a challenging year for the automotive industry both in Malaysia and abroad.
“However, we at BMW Group Malaysia were still able to report record sales for all of our cars in the Malaysian market with a total of 3,564 BMW vehicles and 214 Minis sold.
“Our success in the year was also marked with the fact that we grew to 40% in the premium segment of the Malaysian automotive industry which is an important step forward in our presence here.”
Briscoe added that the successful year was also mainly due to its 14 strong 4S (Sales, Service, Systems and Spare parts) dealership network that have been working continuously in ensuring that the BMW brand went from strength to strength.
“The BMW Group Malaysia Dealer Trophy Night is our way of thanking our network of dealers for all their hard work, patience and perseverance in helping us continue to be successful in Malaysia.
“It is also our way of celebrating our success for the past year as well as motivating our dealers to be the best! Not just in selling cars but in all areas of the business of representing the BMW brand which also includes business sustainability, market share growth and excellent customer service as well as after-sales service.
“These are all crucial elements in today’s premium automotive business.” said Briscoe.
The evening saw Ingress Auto Sdn Bhd which is located at the prime thoroughfare of Jalan Damansara take home the Platinum Award Category for dealerships that have a sales turnover of more than 200 cars per annum.
First and second runners-up in the category were Auto Bavaria Sungai Besi and Auto Bavaria Bukit Bintang respectively.
